Trauma Therapy Specialty

As a specially trained trauma therapist, I provide you with a level of expertise critical to your healing.  No matter how long ago your trauma may have occurred, if you have experienced a trauma in your past, current difficulties and challenges may seem unrelated but may actually become more manageable as a result of trauma therapy.

What Is PTSD?

PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, is classified as an Anxiety Disorder and, if left untreated, can result in a disruption in your daily living, your level of happiness and contentment, and even in your relationships.  You may experience Post Traumatic Stress Disorder if the traumatic event happened to you directly, to someone with whom you are close, or if you witnessed it firsthand.

There are different types of traumas, those that are recurrent such as child abuse and those that are one-time events such as natural disasters.  What is important is your response to the trauma and integrating it into your life history.  There are a number of different treatment models and with careful assessment of your treatment needs and goals, together we will develop a plan for your healing.  You're no longer alone in your suffering; I'm here to help.

How I Can Help

Sometimes simply picking up the phone and putting yourself in the hands of a stranger is the hardest step in getting help.  Let me assure you that not only do I bring advanced training and expertise as a trauma specialist to our time together, but I also bring a level of empathy and compassion as a trauma survivor as well.

While our time together is about you and your experiences, my understanding of the issues you may be experiencing goes far beyond my clinical expertise, allowing you to bypass feelings of discomfort so we may get to the heart of what is challenging you in your life and relationships.
